Harris to provide an audio communication system for NASA's first deep space exploration mission scheduled for launch on 2022 aboard the spacecraft Orion the company announced today. Orion is NASA's first spacecraft designed for long-distance exploration of long-lived space by humans.

Harris was selected by Lockheed Martin, Orion's master builder, to deliver the audio system for Exploration Mission-2, the first crewed flight for the spacecraft Orion. The system, which will allow astronauts to communicate with each other and with NASA, will include audio control units (ACUs), audio interface units (AIUs) and a speaker unit (SPU).

"The audio system built by Harris will be a crucial communication tool for astronauts aboard these Orion missions, such as flights to Mars and beyond," said Murali Krishnan, vice President and CEO of Harris. ] [ad_2]
