Pipac is a world-renowned method of treating patients, among others with ovarian cancer, stomach, large intestine, pancreas, appendicitis. What is it? Chemotherapy is given directly where the disease has infested, thanks to a special tip, which is used to spray the substance as a snowstorm into the abdominal cavity.
Hyperthermia is an intraperitoneal hyperthermia. Only three centers in Poland do it. After excision of tumors by a special machine, heated chemotherapy is administered to patients. It is long hours of heavy surgery.
Thanks to the funds received, Bydgoszcz CO was able to buy 20 nebulizers with a set of syringes that can be used in patients treated for intraperitoneal dissemination – inform the hospital.
