Jerzy Brzęczek presented the idea of ​​the representation of Poland

During the conference, we had to find out who was the coach of the national team. PZPN informed of the choice of the successor of Adam Nawałka a few days earlier. In the journalistic market, Polish and foreign names have been included. Zbigniew Boniek however decided that the staff would be headed by Jerzy Brzęczek. The former coach of Wisła Płock with PZPN signed the contract until December 2019.

– The ball does not like the empty, the ball is moving forward. We are just starting another game, so I had to pick a man who will take up this challenge. I love people who want to achieve something and do not cut the celebrity coupons. For a long time, I wondered who to choose, but the 100 years of Polish football history showed that the greatest successes were won by the Poles – motivated by the decision of PZPN President Zbigniew Boniek. – Choosing Jurek is not a step in the uncertainty, but in the confidence. The coach 's resume is not rich, but I have not watched it because the Polish club has not been successful in recent years. It's my choice and my duty. Everything was not as it should be and we have to build a new team that Jurek will create. Contract until December 2019 with an option to extend if we qualify for the European Championship. Our goal is to qualify for the championship. Submit us to qualify for the big tournaments – said Boniek.

The new coach has so far headed GKS Katowice, Raków Częstochowa and Lechia Gdańsk.

– Being a coach and being a club coach is not the same thing, but I can remind coaches who have entered the locker room as coaches and who have succeeded. I had no fear when choosing Jurek. The desire to win the coach has made me the biggest enthusiast of Jerzy Brzęczka – the president of the Polish Football Association has justified the choice.

– My dream was to direct the performance, but that does not mean that I'm scared. I've always been humble and as a football player and coach. I am proud that I am Polish and I do not feel a lower coach because I am Polish. I am full of energy and enthusiasm, I am available for our representatives. I want to reach a level such as the representation of Adam Nawałka during the World Cup qualifiers. My goal is for the Poles to like the Polish representation again, so that the two weeks that have influenced Poland so much do not make themselves felt – Jerzy Brzęczek hailed the journalists.

Jerzy Brzęczek is an uncle of Jakub Błaszczykowski. During the conference, a question was asked about the future of the representative in the team.

– We understand what this situation looks like, but we are professionals. Kuba will be called when he is healthy and he will play well – said new coach Jerzy Brzęczek.

The coach also presented uncertainty about the future of the top scorer of the national team Robert Lewandowski.

– I did not think about changing the captain of the team. I met representatives to talk to them. I wanted to know if they still have the energy to represent the country – said Brzęczek.

After the defeat at the World Cup, there was speculation about the revolution in the Polish team. Jerzy Brzęczek presented his idea for the representation of Poland.

– I have two basic tasks. Let the team play a good ball and we must rejuvenate the team. I will not make a revolution, but an evolution. Soon, some players will finish their career in the national team and we will have to prepare their successors. We have young players for the game, but we have to keep the balance. During the conference, the question was asked about the unsuccessful seasons of Jerzy Brzęczka.

– The subject of unsuccessful adventures would be to discuss whether there were unsuccessful adventures, but this is not the right place. I went away from the second league to the coach. I am not ashamed of what I have accomplished. I came to Lechia when they finished the season in 15th position, and when I left them I left them as 5. I learned a lot in Gdańsk, Raków or GKS Katowice – replied Jerzy Brzęczek.
