On Saturday, July 28, at 5.30 the leader of the Maanam – Kora group, or Olga Sipowicz, left. She was 67 years old. The singer died after a long fight against cancer, in her house in Bliżów, surrounded by relatives. Kora or Olga Aleksandra Sipowicz was born on June 8, 1951 in Krakow. In the years 1976 – 2008 she was the leader of the group Maanam .
For many years, she battled cancer. In the fall of 2013, the singer was operated on and the following months were spent on chemotherapy, supposed to stop ovarian cancer

Kora was one of the most popular Polish singers most important in entertainment music, icon of Polish rock. , producer and TV personality.
She was the fifth, the youngest child of Marcin Ostrowski – a Krakow official and his second wife – Emilia. At the age of four, because of her parents' poverty and her mother's illness, she ended up in an orphanage. A stay at this place has become a traumatic experience for her. In childhood, Kora was sexually assaulted by a priest, which she openly confessed in an interview with the weekly Wprost in June 2010. On stage, she made her debut in 1975 alongside her husband of the time Marek Jackowski . Initially, the group, which also included Milo Kurtis called M-a-M and played music inspired by the Middle East. It is only under the name Maanam that the band is interested in rock. As it soon turned out, it was a bull's eye.
The breakthrough came after the concert of Kora and Maanam in Opole in 1980, where the group sang "Boskie Buenos" and "Lust of Money". Since then, the band has gained tremendous popularity and almost all group albums have immediately become bestsellers
