– We think of other big cities that do not have good international connections. Here we see our luck – says Peter Jančovič, managing director of Leo Express. He also points out that the carrier is the first private company to conduct long distance courses on Polish tracks, and that "wiping roads" is not easy.
July 20 this year the inaugural race of the Leo Express train from Prague to Krakow took place. From 20 July, the carrier will travel from Krakow to Prague on Mondays and Saturdays, and from the other side of Prague to Krakow on Fridays and Sundays. However, the frequency of the trips must increase. – The goal is to take classes daily. However, this depends to a large extent on the infrastructure. This will only be possible when the restrictions on repairs are completed. Then we will be able to offer even better quality of our offer – stresses Peter Jančovič. – Currently, the infrastructure is far from optimal, but we have nevertheless decided to launch a more targeted link to tourists who do not count every minute and tolerate certain technical limitations – he adds.
A representative of a Czech carrier points out that Krakow is only the beginning. – We think of other big cities that do not have good international connections. Here we see our luck. However, we must remember that we are the first in this market and we are leading the way. If we succeed, we will develop – says the general manager of Leo Express.
– We use our experience we acquired during 6 years of operation. We want our trains to be even better and more convenient for passengers. We focus on the most attractive offer and shorter travel times will be more appealing to passengers. So we want to go where the connection will be the fastest. Today, the current road is the result of the analysis of the state of the infrastructure. We chose it simply because it allows such trips – says Peter Jančovič.
New Level of Transportation
– The main thing that distinguishes this train is that it is a Leo Express train. It presents our idea of how long distance transport should look like. Because it's not just about going from point A to point B – says Jančovič. – We want the train to offer better standards than the car and we try to get there. What you can experience in our passenger train is not able to get into any car. We have 3 classes: economy, business and premium. We offer catering, plugs and Wi-Fi – he adds.
The first course was done by the company Stadler, which was manufactured in Poland at the factory in Siedlce. – We are very happy with her. However, we are not attached to cooperation with a producer. We are open to all who produce rolling stock of good quality. At this moment we have already ordered more trains. This time, they will come from a different producer, but a large part, among others its components will come from Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia – stresses the representative of Leo Express.
