ŁKS Łódź – GKS Katowice 0: 1. Pawelek saved Gieta [RELACJA]

Katowice and Łódź are two cities with great football traditions and an even more irritated ambition. It happened that Saturday on the fields of the first and second league we watched a match duel between the two cities. In the beginning, Widzew won the Brynów development, but several tens of minutes later, the victory in the city of fibrils was celebrated by the GKS players who modestly beat the LKS.

For the lane club of the Lublin Union, it was the first match in the Ekstraklasa backroom for five years. He aroused great interest because in the stands appeared, among others Marcin Gortat. Supported by their supporters, the hosts in the early minutes behaved unexpectedly and dominated GKS. The result could have been opened by Patryk Bryła, but in the same situation with Mariusz Pawełek he failed to reach the goal. Moments later, the defensive goalkeeper defended Artur Bogusz's shot and, in the 25th minute, GKS escaped from the ax. After a corner kick, Pawełek stopped Bryła's shot in an efficient manner, and one of the defenders stopped Peter Scrdol's score at the last moment.

Benjamin paid for unused situations. GKS only in the 34th minute performed the first action-packed under the rivals' penalty field and immediately turned it into goal. With goalkeeper ŁKS, Daniel Rumin was alone and scored his first goal in the colors of the Katowice club.

It can be said that GKS did his homework after the match against Podbeskidzie. A week ago, in Bukowa Górale, they also scored after the first dangerous action and later successfully defended a favorable result. In the second half in Łódź, the Katowiczans adopted a similar tactic, and Pawełek saved them from the loss of points. The new goalkeeper of GKS a week ago was the best player on his team, and in Lodz he played at an even higher level. He stopped Bartłomiej Kalinkowski twice in one hundred percent situations, and in the end he stopped speeder Jakub Kostyrka.

LKS held a good meeting, but he paid the price for inefficiency. Katowiczans, although they did not appreciate the quality of the game, rehabilitated themselves for a failed inauguration and gained some peace before the next matches.
