All elements of the construction schedule of the Baltic Pipe pipeline are completed on time, there are no delays. On October 1, 2022, the investment will be ready – the plenipotentiary of the government's strategic energy infrastructure, Piotr Naimski, ensured Wednesday at the Sejm.

Naimski presented at the session of the Sejm Committee on Energy and Treasury information on the progress of work on the construction of a pipeline, which will link the Polish gas system to across Denmark with Norwegian deposits. The project is implemented by the Polish gas transmission system operator Gaz-System and its Danish equivalent Energinet. The planned capacity of the new bus is 10 billion m 6 of gas per year. Commissioning of the transmission is planned for 2022. The pipeline must be operated for 50 years.

As Naimski said last year, the operators have signed a framework agreement and the most important is to complete the negotiations and clarify the details. In his opinion, the construction contract – the final decision to start work – will be signed "around the month of November."

The Plenipotentiary also revealed that "very intense" discussions with the Danes regarding the so-called gray area, area in which Poland and Denmark have not set the limit of their exclusive economic zones. It is located between the Danish island of Bornholm and the Polish coast and has an area of about 3.6 thousand. square km It's exactly in this area that the "hooks" are recommended in June. the northern route of the submarine pipeline route. The merger would cross the exclusive economic zone of Sweden as well as the Polish and Danish maritime zones. At the same time, the exit and entry points of the pipeline on the Polish and Danish coasts were selected. On the Danish side, this will be the southern Faxe point on the island of Zeeland, in Poland the pipeline will go ashore in the Niechorze-Pogorzelica site in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

As Naimski said – the case of exclusive economic zones is disrupted by "twenty years" and on the occasion of the implementation of Batlic Pipe, the Danes have called for its dissolution. In Naimski's opinion, discussions on this topic will be finalized by the end of August and September.

He draws attention to the co – financing of the EFF for a total of about 50 million euros from the working phase of the merger project. He noted that although this figure may not seem important compared to the expected costs, it shows that the project is taken seriously by the European Commission. Naimski, questioned about the possibility for the CEF to finance the very construction of the Baltic Pipe, said that negotiations were underway with the EC on this subject, but that he did not want to decide what kind of business. money that would be.

larger amounts than expected are involved in the project work. At the same time, he stressed that it would not be easy to obtain funding from the MIE because this instrument is essentially devoted to economically unjustifiable infrastructure projects for security. Meanwhile, as he pointed out – the so-called opening of the season clearly indicated that the Baltic Pipe pipeline was economically justified and profitable for both parties – Polish and Danish

as the 39, said the Plenipotentiary, although some minor adjustments may be made to the recommendations, the design work is very advanced. The chairman of the operator of the Polish gas transmission system – Gas system Tomasz Stępień stressed that the construction of the gas pipeline is more difficult on land than at sea. He felt that the arrangement of the underwater section of the Baltic Pipe could take 80 to 90 days. He stressed that it is an assessment based on many investments and experiences – including Russians in the Baltic. According to schedule, the construction of the Baltic Pipe submarine section will begin in the spring of 2020 and will last 24 months (PAP)
