– The Baltic Pipe project is 100% implemented according to the timetable adopted almost two years ago. The preparatory phase of this investment involves several steps. One of these essential steps will be closed this week, he said at a conference on the safety of raw materials in Poland.

Naimski assured that "everything will be ready by 2022 and nothing indicates that this date can be questioned". In October, Naimski announced that, until December of this year, investors were considering signing a construction contract, "this step equates to the final investment decision".

Baltic Pipe is a strategic infrastructure project. aims to create a new gas supply corridor on the European market. The investment will allow the transport of gas from Norway to the Danish and Polish markets, as well as to customers from neighboring countries.

In June, the Polish gas transport operator Gaz-System approved the underwater section of the Baltic Pipe pipeline, which is to link the Polish and Danish gas transmission systems. Thanks to this, the gas from the Norwegian plateau will go to Poland.

The recommended route, approximately 275 km long, crosses the Polish and Danish maritime zones and the excluded economic zone of Sweden. On the Danish side, the pipeline will lead to Faxe South, on the island of Zeeland, Poland – in the Niechorze-Pogorzelica site in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The Baltic Pipe system is composed of five elements: combination of the Norwegian system in the North Sea and the Danish system, extension of the gas transmission network via Denmark, construction of a gas compression station on the island. Danish island of Zealand, submarine pipeline connecting Denmark to Poland with a reception terminal and development of Polish transmission system.

Baltic Pipe is jointly built by the operators of the gas transport system – Gaz-System and Danish Energinet. According to the so-called May published scale of investments, the expenses for the new bus will rise to around 1.6 billion euros. The Polish operator is responsible for the investment tasks for an amount of 800 million euros. The gas transmission route is scheduled to begin in the autumn of 2022.

In his speech, Naimski noted that "in Poland, the share of gas divided into primary energy sources was" relatively low "- it is about 13-14%, while in D & # 's In other European economies comparable to Poland, this percentage is "much higher".

– On the one hand, it's good, because with the dependence on monopolistic supplies, Gazprom has managed over the last quarter of a century to not make the Polish economy excessively dependent on the raw material provided monopoly – he said.

He stressed that Poland is trying to break out of this monopoly. Baltic Pipe, which will transport gas from the Norwegian plateau and expand the İwinoujście LNG terminal, which will allow liquefied gas to reach us from "all directions in the world", if it is beneficial. .

– From 2023, we can essentially make Polish recipients independent of Russian suppliers. This will guarantee this type of security of supply. With safe deliveries, we can reasonably think that some of the energy mix will be gas-based – said the government's plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure. Therefore – as he pointed out – plans to build two blocks of gas in the Lower Oder.

Naimski however left no doubt that, in the context of Poland's energy policy until 2040, Poland's energy security "is largely based on what we have". Therefore, investments in coal mining are, in his opinion, something "fundamental" for us.
