Patryk Vega on the movie "Plagues Breslau": 110 minutes of pure adrenaline

The latest films of the creator of "Pitbull" have gathered in cinemas nearly 10 million people. This time, instead of cinema, the movie "Plagues Breslau" will be available only on Showmax. This is Showmax's sixth original production this year and another, after the series "Botoks" and "Women of mafia", made especially for this platform by Patryk Vega. The first is planned for December of this year.

The action of the film "Breslau Plages" takes place in contemporary Wrocław , where a series of gruesome murders takes place. Every day at 18:00 an unknown serial killer executes a crime. Policewoman Helena Ruś (Małgorzata Kożuchowska) suspects that they are the work of a man. When Bronson (Tomasz Oświeciński) is seriously injured during the intervention, Helena's police partner, the protagonist, decides at all costs to determine the murderer's identity. In collaboration with Iwona Bogacka (Daria Widawska), profiler CSWP assigned to this case, she is conducting an investigation whose explanation must be sought in the history of the city in the eighteenth century. Women are trying to win the race against time and prevent other crimes.

What did you see Małgorzata Kożuchowska in deciding to entrust him with the lead role so different from the actress' films? – Acting consists of two things – the first is the question of the expression of emotions and this can be learned. The second thing is the talent with which you were born. This specific energy makes you move people and transfer those emotions or not. Małgosia Kożuchowska has a lot of energy and there are not many actresses in Poland who combine an acting workshop with such talent. We thought about working together for a long time. We were convinced that we would like to do something completely special and give it a role that will be completely different from anything that it has done up to here. On the occasion of "Plag Breslau" it turned out that it was a dream role for her and we decided together that it was the right moment

What will the movie "Plagues Breslau" differ from your previous productions? ]

– "Scourges of Breslau" is my most sensational film of my life. 110 minutes of pure adrenaline. It is also a story of a single floor. This time we do not show the fate of many heroes, but we focus on the investigation. I will say that after writing this script, I asked myself, "How am I going to film it now?" Because there are a lot of scenes here, do it with a lot of enthusiasm. We have scenes on the ground, shot by tens of thousands of people, a scene with a fire in the opera or with a horse raging on the street between 50 cars, trampling people and drivers. The size of this film is huge and I approach it with a real childish joy.

How do you feel as a director? popular in Poland?

– In general, I try to make movies for people. I am a sociologist of culture through education, so I continue to read this market all the time and look at what people want. All my films are preceded by special maps several tens of meters wide. The time of the film is written there, and on the vertical axis there are words such as "emotions", "great emotions", "concentration" or "interest". In this way, I create such an echo of the heart of the film. I check in a way that people should laugh for a minute and in which they should cry. After such preparations, going to a regular screening is a great experience because I am able to relive the film through these people and their emotions. Check if the viewers actually laugh when I guess it would be, or when they were moved when they were moved. Whenever I have the feeling that I am discovering more and more the audience and that I am trying to meet them. I'm trying to make movies mainly for people

Why did you decide to make a movie with Showmax this time, and not like in the previous ones, that he enters the movie theaters cinema?

– I have not had a TV for 12 years. I watch series and movies mainly on the Internet. I am convinced that a whole generation of young people are focusing on the Internet. That's why, with Showmax, we came to the conclusion that a big challenge, something completely new and fresh, would be to create a movie movie that will be exclusively dedicated to the Internet audience – in this case for Showmax viewers. We approach it with a lot of excitement.
