The 35-year-old died in the Rudna mine in Polkowice (Dolnośląskie) owned by KGHM Polska Miedź. The man was hit by a mining machine. The circumstances of the accident are being clarified.

Anna Osadczuk, acting director of the communications department of KGHM Polska Miedź SA, told PAP that the accident had occurred after 11 am, in the G-25 branch of the factory of Rudna.

"A 35-year-old miner was hit by a mining machine." The cause of the accident is being explained, "said Osadczuk.

As part of the accident, KGHM President Polska Miedź S.A. Marcin Chludziński announced a three-day mourning at KGHM.
