Prohibition of trading on Sundays. Are stores open on July 22?

The Sunday trade ban usually does not apply on the first and last Sunday of the month – s & # 39; there is no vacation then. July 22 will be the day we will not shop in most stores.

There were two Sundays this month where a trade ban was in effect. It took place on July 8th and 15th. It is now time for the next. The ban on Sunday trading will be in effect again on July 22.

Entrepreneurs mainly complain about the ban on Sunday trading. Especially those who have located their businesses in shopping centers. Although cinema or restaurant owners can work – their Sunday trade ban does not apply – but the shops, which in shopping centers are the vast majority, need to comply. And if people do not come to stores, donor donations will not come

Who can work despite the ban?

The trade ban introduced in March 2018 does not cover all commercial establishments. Normally, pharmacies, gas stations, bakeries, restaurants, movie theaters and mail can work. The Sunday trade ban does not include stores located near railway stations. The trade ban does not apply if the owner or a member of his family does not leave the counter but only if he does not work a day of the week.

For violation of the law and trade on Sunday, which is a trade ban, fine up to 100,000 zł. One of the first cases where the ban on Sunday trade was broken was the case of the liquor store in Gorzów. It turned out that despite the ban on trade, an employee employed on the basis of a contract had been commissioned.
