The amendment of the law on the prohibition of trade on Sundays and holidays is intended to make shops unable to work, pretending to be post offices. Another change is to allow the sale on business days not only to the owner but also to his family. These regulatory changes were adopted at first reading on Thursday by the Sejm Social and Family Policy Committee.
According to PiS MEP, Janusz Śniadka, the applicants' representative, another important change is the exclusion of the ban from trading only post offices whose main activity is to provide postal services. within the meaning of the Act.
In the current law on the ban on trade on Sundays and holidays, one of the exceptions that are not included in the ban concerns post offices.

The amendment also proposed the definition of a group of persons who could benefit from the free assistance of a contractor, a natural person, who performs operations only in person, for his own account and for his own account. The project proposed that the owner of the store could use the help of a spouse, his own children, children of a spouse, adopted children, his parents, his beautiful -mother and his father-in-law.
However, it has been stipulated that family members can not be employed or employed in a commercial establishment operated by such a contractor.
During the discussion on the amendments to the law, the president of the NSZZ "Solidarność" National Secretariat of Banks, Trade and Insurance, Alfred Bujara, proposed that the day of the Sunday trade employees starts on Saturday 22 and has lasted until 24 on Sunday.
As he said, the previous proposal assumed that it would last until 5 am on Monday.
– I said that employers would require workers to work until 12 pm on Saturdays, before free Sundays. I even mentioned the network. It was Biedronka, and it was Biedronka who for the first time extended his working hours to 24 hours. (…) Our proposal has been defined from Saturday at 10 pm to 5 am on Monday. Today, we are going to find a compromise and we ask the members to extend the day from Saturday to June at 10 pm (Sunday), so we will give up this part of the Monday of these five hours, 24 hours a day. hours at 5 pm, said Bujara.

He added that his next proposal to amend the Sunday Commerce Act was to ensure that the franchisor does not force franchise employees to work on Sundays.

About the act
The Trade Restriction Act on Sundays and Public Holidays came into effect on March 1 of this year. According to her, Sunday trading is only allowed on the first and last Sunday of each month of 2018 (with exceptions).
As of January 1, 2019, the provisions of the law limiting trade on Sunday will be strengthened – exchanges will be allowed on a Sunday on a month – the last. However, starting in 2020, the ban will not apply only on the last Sunday of January, April, June and August of each subsequent calendar year, as well as two consecutive Sundays preceding Christmas and the Sunday before Easter.
The law provides for a catalog of 32 exclusions. The ban does not apply, among other things in confectioneries, ice cream parlors, liquid petrol stations, florists, news stores.
