Usually, motorists are even willing to pay more than at unaffiliated stations, just to avoid bad diesel or gasoline, which can cause serious engine problems.

After inspection of 580 stations nationwide petrol stations can be found on gasoline or diesel, which do not meet the required standards. The objections concerned samples taken from three branches of BP's network, the Orlen supermarkets (franchise) and Carrefour.

It should be noted, however, that the risk of getting the worst fuel is currently quite low. Of the 580 stations tested only (or in equal numbers), objections were raised in a dozen facilities. In particular, the gas oil is censored, because among the samples that do not meet the standards, only one concerned the gasoline (station Janiszewo)

However, before considering the supply with even more suspicion, it is necessary remember that fuel quality clearly improves. This conclusion follows from the latest report of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. In his April report, Marek Niechciał, chairman of UOkiK, said: "Through our inspections, the quality of liquid fuels in Poland is improving year by year. In 2017, the standards did not meet at 2.34%. Just over 2% of the samples surveyed are a good result given that until 2003, the percentage of fuel samples that did not meet the requirements was as high as 30%. However, the situation has improved significantly over the years. Since 2015, the result remained below 3%

As in previous years, the most concerns about diesel. In the samples tested, so-called incorrect oxidation stability and flash point too low. Refueling of the fuel in which the above abnormalities have been reported results in an increased risk of clogging of the filter, engine corrosion, impurities in the injectors and other malfunctions of the fuel system. It is therefore necessary not only to expect a deterioration of performance or an increase in fuel consumption, but also an irregular and unstable operation of the engine and a higher emission of harmful compounds in natural gas. ;exhaust.

The problem is related to incorrect steam pressure, which for the driver, for example, may throttle the engine. It should be mentioned, however, that in the sample surveyed, the level was too high in terms of summer fuel requirements. In the case of winter gasoline, the result of the resulting vapor pressure would be in the current standard. The conclusion is therefore that during transition periods (before and after winter) it is easier to refuel with fuel that is not suitable for the specific season. The risk is all the greater as the industry concerned has lower sales and the fuel lot stays in the tank longer.
