On Tuesday, Robert Kubica spent nearly three hours in Williams' car during an afternoon test session in Abu Dhabi. On Wednesday, he started driving in the morning and spent two hours in the box talking to the engineers. This forced the Grove bosses to change plans.

Initially, Kubica had to give the car to George Russell in the middle of the day. The team even reported that the 33-year-old had finished the race and had seen him again. In total, he beat 56 laps and his best time is 1: 40.265. – It would be better to have even more tricks in your account. However, we focused on specific points and implemented our one hundred percent program. It is positive. We just need to analyze and understand everything now, "Kubica told reporters.

Pole pointed out that on Wednesday he has never used this year's tires. – We try to understand the new tires, the new mixes. We have not tested the tires from 2018 at all, so we have no reliable comparison. We are focusing on the 2019 season, we are trying to extract the maximum of these tests – he added.

Kubica is not surprised by the tires prepared by the Italians for next season. – There are some adjustments, but I would not expect radical changes in tire temperature management. Some mixtures, however, have become more similar – he explained.

The longest average ride from Kubica is 14 rounds, which shows that the goal of the Pole was to work on the pace of qualifying. – We have set up our program, we will now analyze its results. A meeting with engineers is waiting for us, we'll see what Pirelli will do after two days of testing, "he said.

A year ago, Kubica also participated in Pirelli tire tests and helped Williams understand the behavior of the tires. – The difference is that this time, I am confident that I will be the Williams driver next year. In the meantime, when we tested a year ago, I did not have such a guarantee. Generally, it is these readers who are not so different. As in the previous year, we were able to evaluate some things and focus on our program – said a Krakow.

The cluster is aware that driving tests can help Grove's team understand what's wrong with the construction of the FW41 model. – We are in a situation where we have to understand what are the causes of our problems during the race weekend. In winter, I can not help too much the team. It's different when the new season starts and you can drive your car.
