Taco Hemingway has clearly not refined the new album, although there are some brilliant moments

Taco Hemingway has just released another album. Before she appeared, she was noisy because of the confusion with the date of the premiere: she was supposed to see the light on Friday, July 13, but she hit the network the day before.

Of course, it is a coincidence or a situation created to create the atmosphere around a new version, but that does not really matter. Already today we can assume in darkness that the whole album and the individual songs that were there, based on foundations prepared by long-time collaborators Rumak and Borucci, will always be the tip of all lists of listening sessions on streaming web sites, and the physical version of the album will sell in an impressive number of copies.

Taco Hemingway – A Handful of Well-Known Topics

It's worth looking at what was on the latest album from one of the most popular artists. From the first audition, we know that Taco Hemingway addresses again the topics addressed in his last outings, solo or duet with Quebonafide, under the name of Taconafide.

There are so many verses here the position and status of the music account have changed drastically and can no longer live because it does not allow it to be popular – a new metaphor, although not all to made new, from this situation becomes "Cafe Belga" "ZTM" "Which, although interestingly, does not seem to have the strength and carrying capacity of the previous strong Taco blows, even the" world is FE " the entanglement in contacts and contracts with sponsors and the fact that "it was better", or more precisely: "it was better to live on Motorola." There were also some fragments of the love poetry of the Contemporary rapper: on the fact that she no longer responds or "says she does not want me."

Taco Hemingway – Depression, Events and News

Somewhere on the sidelines "Café Belga" album the theme of depression vanishes – a brilliant theme, if not entirely talked about, Taconafide's album. But Taco, in one of his new songs, only nods with a carefree suggestion that he can go about it. Like almost all men who struggle with this disease, but without money, he does not want to admit it, do not go to someone who can not cope with life.

And only sometimes, only marginally, returns to this album is the former Taco Hemingway – an attentive and attentive observer of the Warsaw party life, surprising with specific ideas about it. Like the fact that "she has a phone covered, I think she was still in Smolna". This is a reference to the practice used by the service of one of Warsaw's popular clubs: security guards put the characteristic stickers on the camera lenses in the phones of participants in the events that are there place. In this Taco has always been great: noticing such curiosities and making them convincing metaphors. It is unfortunate that there are not many such moments on the album.

A little bit of a rap song in English is a little surprising. Of course, this is not a novelty for this musician – although everyone may not remember it today, he left the EP recorded in this language, but today it may seem like a rather unusual idea. Perhaps it is an attempt to go beyond the domestic market and attract attention, perhaps just a fun form.

Interesting are fragments of astonishing rapidity: a significant fragment of the dialogue of the film "Cold War" by Paweł Pawlikowski, sampled at the very end of the album. the lyrics of one of the songs, the release date of the album, unnecessarily emphasized once again in the conversation after this song or a funny reference to the dismal defeat of the national team Polish in the match against Senegal … something else: will this metaphor be understood in a few months? Taco Hemingway – On the track and on the knee, but sometimes brilliantly

The last few months had to be a real carousel for the musician: he recorded Quebonafide's album, then he was preparing the promotional tour of l & # 39; album. Thanks to her, the musicians have done something extraordinary, which their peers can only dream of: they gave a series of concerts in the biggest halls of Poland

One wonders then when the rapper had the time to work his life has influenced not so much on his subject but on his quality. Because it's not difficult to have the impression that individual songs were made on the run, maybe even a little on the knee. Here and there, you can hear the seeds of great ideas, which, however, clearly lack refinement and "tightening" until the end. Brilliant solutions are lost in a flood of good and sometimes only correct lines.

And only sometimes there are fragments of genius and immortal on this album. One should include the following verse: "glass time, blue veins of mephedrone" – a splendid modernization of the famous SLR "Weather Glass" from Lombard, a classic of the 80s.

Because it's not just a great play on words – in the original version The "windows" were "blue televisions" – but also an excellent metaphor for the political and moral changes that have taken place in Poland over the past quarter century, a very accurate observation of the changing mood and lifestyle in the big city. this time the idea of inserts between the songs turned out to be the end – which worked a lot Taco on the album "Marble", where he spoke to the receptionist of the In which hotel the album was played, this time there is no force an artist with any of the Polish journalists, neither have the power in themselves nor comment on the 39; individual in an interesting way of various compositions and does not give them additional meanings, as was the case with this album.

Taco Hemingway – Escape from a Sad Future

For what will certainly be appreciated by those who have always seen the most eloquent rapper of the Polish scene in Taco, references to culture and pop culture are more than ever inspiring. A great idea, opening up many interpretative possibilities, is the metaphor of life as a film directed by Stanley Kubrick.

It appears in several places, in one of them it is perfectly well compared by comparison to the films of Patrick Vega. An even more interesting point of reference is Witold Gombrowicz, a Polish writer, who is admitted from time to time to an important participant in the present intellectual life of Poland

. TV shows. But it's still a lot more than on new records from many other Polish rappers, where more and more allusions to pop culture are starting to prevail over metaphors referring to fast cars and different ways of doing things. 39 to have sex.

One of the most interesting ideas on this album – maybe not on the subject, but rather on how it is taken – is the one on which the song "2031" is based. It's an attempt to predict the future, in which the artist skillfully paints a vision of the development of his career and his life.

It's a bit funny – it turns out that in more than ten years someone can still advance or kill someone else. .. Kuba Wojewódzki. However, he is also very sad, and at the same time extremely sober, in his assumption of something inevitable – the gradual change of the artist in minor and the loss of popularity.

This is a song that clearly shows that Taco a bit bored, he can still surprise with an unusual approach and form that goes beyond the pattern in which he sometimes seems to fall in a lot. And it may be the best idea for him that the sad vision contained in this song be checked as late as possible, or maybe not even at all.

And the cinema in July? We came back to "The Incredibles" and "Mamma Mia"!
