Up to 10 million passengers a year. The new Radom airport is to be used for this purpose, which will be commissioned in 2020. – This will be an airport completely different from what it is today – stresses Mariusz Szpikowski, president of Przedsiębiorstwo Państwowe Porty Lotnicze. However, before the transition from the port, a bankruptcy petition was filed. Extract from the program "Polska i iatwiat" on TVN24

According to Radosław Witkowski, president of Radom, "the decision to build an airport in 2011 was a hasty decision, not supported by analysis". It ended in the fact that most of the time the port of Radom was empty

Application for Bankruptcy

The request for bankruptcy of the airport has already been brought to justice. This does not mean it's closed. Portia Lotnicze is preparing to take control of the port

To begin, PPL wants to inject more than 400 million PLN into the airport of Radom. As part of the investment, a new terminal or a longer belt will be built, among others. According to schedule, the port of Radom must facilitate the bursting of Chopin Airport in just two years.

– Our schedules, which are not at all tense, show that we are able to be ready at the airport for 2020 and this are not optimistic assumptions. We must remember that the launch of the airport is closely linked to the forecast of the development of Chopin airport traffic – stresses Szpikowski

Optimistic forecasts

PPL believes that low-cost airlines prices will pass from Warsaw to Radom

– This is a port that is too far from Warsaw and there are just physically passengers who will be exactly the same as those who want to fly, which means that no one wants to fly – says Grzegorz Polaniecki, a member of the Enter Air Committee.

Another opinion is Mariusz Szpikowski. – I am convinced that people will want to fly for a simple reason. Unfortunately, we must say openly, it will not be possible to fly from Chopin Airport, not because we want to promote Radom or any other port, simply because it is physically impossible to enlarge Chopin Airport to meet demand –

PPL has taken into account two alternative airports for Chopin. Radom, which is 110 km from the center of Warsaw and Modlin, which is more than half closer. The company has commissioned expertise, which shows that it will be faster and less expensive to extend the airport further away from the capital.

– In our opinion, it is an illogical decision prepared on the basis of a report containing numerous factual errors. Therefore, the Polish state spends 900 million zlotys for a project that, from the charter point of view, is not completely connected because these lines do not want to fly from Radom – explains Marcin Danil, vice president from Warsaw-Modlin airport. 19659005] Meanwhile, the authorities of Radom hope that the investment in the airport will help the city to spread its wings. The city is still struggling with a double-digit unemployment rate

– There will be new businesses that will create new jobs. Radosław Witkowski, president of Radom

Finally, 10 million passengers will use the Radom airport each year
