Before the Gdańsk District Court, the trial of Dominik W., 21, began Monday accused of driving a drunk car, causing serious danger on the road, as well as insulting police. The man is the grandson of the former President of the Republic of Poland

.The case concerns the event of February 25, 2018. The police have been informed that one of the streets of the city. Orunia in Gdansk was driving the golf course, whose driver ignored signals and signs. According to witnesses, the car also had to hit properly parked cars and move away. The police arrested the driver Dominik W. The young man was intoxicated, he insulted the police, and he kicked one of them. It was established that he had already threatened and shot at a person who was trying to detain him

Dominika W. Prosecutors have filed five charges, the most serious of which is "to directly expose an accident of the road".

According to the prosecutor's office with the right to do so and he was in a state of intoxication (at the time of detention he had in the breath exhaled not less than 2.08 per thousand of alcohol) . The golf he guided moved from the left to the right of the road, rolled on sidewalks, forcing pedestrians to run, he also hit other vehicles (he is entered one of them intentionally). The man was also charged with insulting the police and forcing them to "withdraw from their official duties". Dominik W. was also accused of using violence and threats against a person attempting to arrest him. The young man faces up to 12 years in prison.

During the investigation, Dominik W. confessed to driving while intoxicated and causing damage to the vehicle. However, he did not confess to having been charged with other acts

Dominik W. is in detention. He came to see him in the last days of March. Shortly after the arrest, the Gdańsk District Court applied a preventive measure of 10,000 to W. zł deposit. The man paid the money and left the arrest, but the prosecutor's office filed a complaint with the district court against the lower court's decision. On March 6, the Court of Appeal ruled that "a financial guarantee is not a measure that would adequately protect the course of the proceedings" and decided to detain him temporarily.

This is not the only criminal case of Lech Wałęsa's grandson. A lawsuit in which a man is responsible for the violation of the physical integrity of a woman, his partner, is going on in the Gdańsk court
