Although only historians remember Stoewer, from the second half of the 19th century until the Second World War one of the leaders of the industry in this part of Europe. Founded in 1858 in Szczecin by Bernhard Stoewer, born in Pyrzyce, the company is growing rapidly with more specializations.

She began with sewing machines, and over time, she added to the offer of other achievements of contemporary technology: the bike and finally the car. After the first factory installed in Szczecin in the current Niemcewicz Street, the following generations have built a second factory on the current Polish Army Avenue, dedicated to the production of automobiles.

The objects made by Manfred Bauer over the past decades have been collected by Manfried Bauer in his private "Stoewer Museum" in Wald-Michelbach, near Mannheim.
The German decided sell the entire collection in Szczecin to prevent it from dividing it into parts.

– For emotional reasons, it was not easy to make the decision to leave the collection. He wanted to make sure, however, that she was still exposed publicly. That's why he decided to sell it to us – said Stanisław Horoszko, director of the Museum of Technology and Transport Szczecin, at the conference announcing the return of cars in Poland.

A total of 870 exhibitions will come from Szczecin in Germany. Manfried Bauer collected all Stoewer plant products – from reels to typewriters to cars. The museum will show, among other things, the 1913 Stoewer C-2 model with a phaeton body and a 2.5-liter, 24-hp engine. The collection will also include the 1931 Stoewer V5 Sport Roadster, introduced just after its production at the Berlin Motor Show and the only six-seat Stoewer Arkona in the world in 1939.

The city of Szczecin will take over the purchase of the entire collection. 3.2 million zlotys. As assured the city president, Piotr Krzystek, at the exhibition of the museum of technology and transport, Stoewer articles will appear this fall. – This is definitely not our latest Stoewer car purchase – Krzystek ad.

As noted by museum representatives, this is the first case in history to The Poles have bought a whole German museum in operation. The Museum of Technology and Transport of Szczecin is one of the most interesting and valuable objects of this type in Poland, but after recent purchases, it enters a new stage of its development.

The museum management is currently planning to expandso you can see every day as many objects as possible. To this end, an amount of more than one million euros has been obtained from EU funds. The new part of the museum – the Center for Technical Culture – must be ready in the middle of 2022.
