The October budget surplus amounted to 6.5 billion zlotys

The budget surplus after October 2018 amounted to 6.5 billion zlotys, the Ministry of Finance announced in a press release. Between January and October, revenues amounted to PLN 309.4 billion (87.0% of the plan) and expenditures to PLN 302.9 billion (76.3% of the plan).

In mid-October, Finance Minister Teresa Czerwińska said the preliminary calculations indicated that the October budget surplus was about 6 billion zlotys.

The increase in revenue from the same period last year was recorded with the following taxes:

– VAT revenues increased by 5.4%. year (about PLN 7.3 billion),

– revenues from excise duties and the gaming tax increased by 5.2%. year-on-year (around 3.0 billion zlotys),

– Income from personal income tax increased by 13.7%. year-on-year (approximately 5.8 billion zlotys),

– CIT's revenues increased by 16.5%. year-on-year (about PLN 4.1 billion),

– tax revenues of some financial institutions increased by 3.7%. year-on-year.

After September, the budget surplus was 3.2 billion zlotys.

The budget law for 2018 provided for a deficit of PLN 41.5 billion. (PAP Business)
