Wednesday morning protesters gather at the back of the courthouse on Krasińskich Square
– About 8 judges come to work, but some of the protesters are already in the Supreme Court. Some of these people even decided to stay in court, we saw those who were rolling mats and sleeping bags. They left Krasinski Square before entering the Supreme Court – Agnieszka Veljković, a TVN24 reporter
. The gathered people brought with them the banners with the slogans: "Paws from the SN", "Constitution". They also have white and red flags. They oppose the amendment to the Supreme Court Act, which requires judges who are 65 years old to retire.
At 8 o'clock Professor Adam Strzembosz appeared at once. "Thank you" – they were chanting the assembly.
A few minutes later, Małgorzata Gersdorf, the first president of the Supreme Court, arrived. To reach the building, she crossed the crowd gathered in front of him. Several demonstrators handed him white roses. The protesters welcomed him with applause, they also chanted "judges are irremovable", "Constitution" and "free courts".

Gersdorf meets with President
Tuesday, the first President of the Supreme Court, Małgorzata Gersdorf, met President Andrzej Duda. The President of the Supreme Court Chamber of Labor and Social Security, Józef Iwulski, and the President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Marek Zirk-Sadowski, also attended the meeting.
After the meeting, the Deputy Head of the Chancellery of President Paweł Mucha announced that "the first President of the Supreme Court, Małgorzata Gersdorf, is retiring". As he added, "he does not expect Professor Małgorzata Gersdorf to come to the Supreme Court on Wednesday." He noted that starting Wednesday, the Supreme Court is headed by Judge Józef Iwulski.
A Supreme Court spokesman, Judge Michał Laskowski, said at a press conference that the first president of the Supreme Court would be Wednesday at work. – I appointed Judge Józef Iwulski to fulfill my duties during my absence, because I go on vacation – she pointed out Tuesday

Statements regarding the desire to remain in power – as reported in the SN press team – were submitted by 16 judges. These statements have a different content. As noted, in nine as the legal basis was given the law on the Supreme Court of 8 December 2017, in seven judges referred directly to the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. The first president of 65-year-old SN Małgorzata Gersdorf said that she "was not asking and would not ask the president a new judge and president of the Supreme Court."
The first President of the Supreme Court or the President of the Supreme Court will be released after the entry into force of this law, the President of the Republic of Poland will entrust to the Supreme Court or to the SN Chamber the designated judge until the first president of the Supreme Court or the president of the SN. On Thursday, the General Assembly of SN judges unanimously adopted a resolution stipulating that Judge Gersdorf remain in compliance with the Constitution of the Republic of Poland until 30 April 2020.
