The information concerns the product "Pepper sweet loose" nr. lot L 28/07, which could be bought on July 17th and 21st.

"In the interest of consumer safety, Lidl's reaction was immediate and the product was removed from the sale," reads in the announcement, which also included excuses for customers.

Internal control has proved that it contained too large amounts of a chemical compound used in agriculture as a regulator of plant growth and development. This substance is ethephon. If you eat too much, it can cause diarrhea and frequent urination.

As the owner of the Lidl network, the product can be returned to any store. However, it is worth checking in advance that we bought this pepper.

"All other products, including other peppers, sold by Lidl in Poland are not subject to withdrawal" – reads the statement.
