The tractor manufacturer promises improvements and is confident that his plan will be a success. If an investor from the Far East – is heard in the industry – writes "Biznesu Puls" about Ursus and its restructuring. It is likely that some of the assets of the company will be sold, "said Vice President Michał Nidzgorski.
Ursus has three divisions specialized in the production of tractors, machines and electric buses. – We discuss with various potential investors interested in any of them. – adds Nidzgorski. The company also plans to divest all tractors production activities if a strategic investor presents itself.
One of the experts, quoted anonymously by "PB", believes that such an investment could be of interest to Far East actors, seeking a gateway to European markets, or for someone from Britain wishing to protect itself against the hard Brexit.
Restructuring at Ursus. Hope in the bus
In Ursus, restructuring is underway. The company plans to fully repay its commitments under the restructuring plan, amounting to about PLN 140 million by 2023.
Nidzgorski assures that the restructuring has not affected the current operations of the company. We are working on rebuilding the portfolio to improve profitability – we are reducing the number of products, focusing on the tractors with the highest demand, that is, those of medium and large power. In addition, we are modernizing the sales network – we are changing our policy in favor of leaders to improve margins and we hope that the national tractor market will begin to move after a few years of interruption – he said in an interview with PB.
As the daily notes, the situation of the Ursus bus division, including that of electric vehicles, is currently the clearest.
– The dynamic development of the bus company would remedy the situation of the entire group Ursus and in a moment, in terms of revenue, buses could outweigh the tractors – says Nidzgorski.
