Williams needs to understand the behavior of the new tires. Robert Kubica has no doubts

The past season in Formula 1 showed that Williams was not doing well with Pirelli tires. Especially in hot weather, as we saw during the Grand Prix of Spain in Barcelona. If the team has to go back to the middle of the F1 rate, it has to solve not only the problem of lack of support, but also of used tires.

Robert Kubica is well aware of this. – It is too early to talk about expectations for 2019. We must first do our job. It starts with tests in Abu Dhabi. The evaluation of the new Pirelli tires is an essential test. We have to focus on that and understand the best tires – said the Polish driver.

Kubica is of the opinion that even in a situation where testing is done with the FW41 model, you can learn a lot. – Of course, we will have another car next year. However, these tires are still essential in Formula 1. That's why this type of attention is devoted to these tests. We must be fully focused. We have created a solid program by thinking of them – added the 33-year-old.

The Pole was lucky to have participated last Friday in the first training session before the race at the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi. Even then, he was devoted to the work of the next season. "We have a long way to go," Kubica said simply.
