Deputy Marshal Wojciech Kałuża broke the silence and granted an interview to the independent portal.pl. He explained that he was not a favorite of Katarzyna Lubnauer and did not support her against Ryszard Petru. He also stated that he did not wish to reign with the SLD and that he was the first to turn to the PiS.
Deputy Marshal Wojciech Kałuża admitted in an interview that it was not Monika Rosa who was responsible for appearing on the "one" list and the civic platform.

– Monika Rosa is not responsible for the fact that she is on the "One" list of the Regional Council of Rybnik Region, because she was not. I mostly talked to people from the Civic Platform. Modern was rather autonomous. I specify this because I observe what is happening and what she says. The main role was played by the prominent activists of the Civic Platform. I came from them and it was more convenient for them to be a candidate than a strictly modern candidate – said Wojciech Kałuża in an interview for the independent Internet portal.
He also explained that he was not in agreement that the SLD would run the region.
– A coalition was created to meet the needs of anti-PiS actions, which has never been mentioned before: Platforma Obywatelska, Nowoczesna, SLD, PSL. This preserves the system. And I did not contract with anyone. And I have certainly never dated the fact that the province of Silesia – in accordance with the coalition agreement reached – will be led by two SLD members! – explained the new deputy marshal of the Silesian province.
He also stated that his decision had been made before the start of negotiations with the PiS, when he had learned the composition of the board of directors.

– We thought for a moment, for details, program contacts, I wanted it to be in fact a "program for Silesia", so that 55 billion are really invested in the region. And I received this guarantee. It also determined my decision. During talks with Ministers Grzegorz Tobiszowski, and later Minister Michał Dworczyk, the issue of the development of Silesia was strongly emphasized. And we reached an agreement.
Wojciech Kałuża: This disgusting hate is particularly difficult for me
Vice President Kałuża admitted that he was waiting for a reaction to his decision, but he was not expecting it. As he admitted – he is particularly hurt.
"This disgusting hate is particularly heavy for me, it's not just bouncing on me, but also on the family." As in politics, a man resists some things, but the closest ones do not suffer and feel most.
He added, "There is a lot of talk about not using the language of hate in politics, of trying to soften that language, and here it has exploded, not with double strength, not tripled, but dozens of times more. In fact, this language is terrible.
