GDDKiA informs of the conclusion of an agreement regarding work on a significant part of the A2 motorway. This is a section between Siedlce (south node) and Biała Podlaski (Cicibór node) with 63.5 km. The value of the contract is PLN 10.5 million.
The contract for the implementation of the conceptual elements of the program as well as a complete set of tests were signed in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk and the Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski
Connection A2 and Via Carpatia
with the S19 motorway, which is part of the important road of Via Carpatia towards the south of Europe.
The supposed time of preparation of a concept containing detailed geological and technical research is 14 months. This stage of the work should therefore end in September 2019
Road ready in 2024
According to the calendar presented by GDDKiA, the work will be carried out in three stages. During the second quarter of 2020, a call for tenders for the design and construction of the road will be announced. The signing of the contract with the contractor is scheduled for the beginning of 2021, and the completion of construction works for 2024. The total cost of the design and creation of this section of the A2 is estimated at 3 billion PLN .
The work on the next episode is already underway
GDDKiA recalls that in January 2018 the program concept for another section of A2 – current from the end of the belt Miñska Mazowiecki in Siedlce was signed The A2 motorway from the village of Lubelska to the Miñska Mazowiecki belt is already under construction, contractors for the design and construction were concluded with the contractors. The last decisions allowing the beginning of the works will be published soon.
In addition, the following sections of A2 are implemented: from the Lublin node to the Konik node – the length of the section is 5.6 km and the cost of construction is 214 , 2 million PLN. A section of 9.6 km in length is built from the Konik knot to the Miñska Mazowiecki ring road . The value of the contract is 323.5 million PLN.
The next episodes are in preparation. From the Miñska Mazowiecki ring road to Siedlce there will be a 37.5 km long trail. The completion of the investment is planned for 2023. Its cost is 1.7 billion euros. Also in preparation section of Biała Podlaska on the border of the state. A 32 km section awaits the announcement of a call for tenders for the concepts. It is known that the cost of implementation will rise to 1.5 billion PLN.

In total, the East section of A2 is 15 km of road under construction and 101 more in the design phase.
