Authorities released footage on Friday of a suspect who they said used a police shield to pin a Washington cop against a door as rioters made their way into the Capitol during the week’s uprising last.
The officer, identified as Daniel Hodges, is recovering, the Washington Metropolitan Police Department told Fox News.

“He is fine,” a police spokesperson said. “I saw him today.”
Information on how long Hodges was in the police force was not available. The department tweeted photos of Hodges during the incident and two images of a suspect.
“You saw images of OFC Hodges being smashed into the doorway during the insurgency at the US Capitol,” the department wrote. “Now we need your help in finding the suspect who used a police shield to nail him up against the door block.

In pictures and videos posted online, Hodges is bleeding from his mouth and appears to scream in pain as he is crushed between a door during the Jan.6 melee. The suspect appears to be a white male wearing glasses.
Metro and Capitol Police officers clashed violently with rioters who breached building security after President Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally where he repeated baseless claims his loss election was due to fraud.
Many rioters entered the building armed with pepper spray and other weapons. They pushed and kicked the officers and threw things as they pushed their way.
Authorities are looking for a suspect responsible for allegedly using a police shield to pin a policeman against a door.

Capitol Hill Police Officer Brian Sicknick died Thursday after being hit by a fire extinguisher as crowds stormed the halls of Congress on the same day lawmakers certified the Electoral College’s results.
A San Diego-area woman, an Air Force veteran, was also shot dead. A total of five people died in the riot.
