Police identified the alleged gunman who had been attacked by a football coach at an Oregon high school on Friday, as Angel Granados Dias, 18, a student at the school.
Dias was detained at the Multnomah County Detention Center, charged with possessing a firearm in a public building, attempting to shoot with a weapon in a school and to have been shot imprudently endangered, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

He is being held on bail of $ 500,000 and is scheduled to appear Monday in the Multnomah County Court of First Instance.
Two students alerted staff members about Friday's "behavior" of Dias and security forces tried to find him at school, but he entered the classroom with the weapon before to be able to do it.
The suspect appeared on Friday at the entrance of a government class at Parkrose High School, wearing a black trench coat and brandishing a firearm. The students managed to escape through the back door of the class and coach Keanon Lowe was able to make a tackle before the police arrived at the scene.

The school was evacuated and a nearby college was locked for several hours when police investigated the scene and found a gun in the school grounds.

"I'm glad everyone is doing well," Lowe told The Oregonian / OregonLive. "I'm happy to have been there for the kids and for the community."
Lowe has been a high school coach for about a year, according to his LinkedIn page. Prior to that, he worked for his alma mater high school, Jesuit High, where he was a star athlete.
