Police identify woman who died at the 2021 Faster Horses Festival

BROOKLYN, MI – Police have identified the 30-year-old woman who was found dead at the Faster Horses Festival.

The woman has been identified as Melissa Donna Havens. Havens’ cause of death was not reported by police, who posted the update on Twitter. His body was discovered at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday July 17.

Police are asking for help in identifying a subject who was seen with Haven within 24 hours of his body being located.

The subject is described as a black man in his thirties, with short black hair and a short beard. The individual was reported to be wearing a gray hoodie.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Sgt. Daniel Drewyor at 734-819-8192.

“Detectives want the public to know that there is no danger or threat to those who attend the Faster Horses Music Festival,” Michigan State Police wrote on Twitter.

Faster Horses is a country music and camping festival that runs at Michigan International Speedway until Sunday, July 18.
