BERKS COUNTY, Pa .– The Cumru Township Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at a local gas station.

At around 10:42 a.m., police were dispatched to a Sunoco gas station on the 100 block of Revere Boulevard in Cumru Township on Friday.

Authorities say upon arrival, witnesses described the suspect as a white man measuring between 5’9 ” and 5’11 ” tall, chunky in waist, wearing a royal blue hooded puffer jacket, blue jeans, dark shoes, blue surgery. style gloves, a mask / blue mask and black sunglasses.

According to reports, the suspect entered the store and walked to a cooler where he removed a 16 oz. plastic bottle of Coca-Cola.

The suspect then approached the store checkout displaying a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the Sunoco employee, officials said.

The employee gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of US currency which was placed in a plastic storage bag.

The suspect picked up the leaking soda bag and bottle on foot through the eastbound parking lot at the Crofts service lot at 114 Revere Blvd.

Officials said the suspect was inside the Sunoco for about two minutes.
