Police now consider the disappearance of the Halderson couple a homicide investigation

WINDSOR (WKOW) – The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office reports that the dismembered remains found at Cottage Grove on Thursday are Bart Halderson.

Bart and his wife Krista have been missing from Windsor since July 1. They were reported missing on July 7.

According to the DCME, the autopsy shows that Halderson died as a result of a homicide, including a gunshot wound. Further results are pending at the moment.

At a Monday afternoon press conference, Dane County Sheriff Kalvin Barrett said Krista Halderson was still considered a missing person. He describes her as 5’3 “, with red hair and blue eyes, and asks community members to keep an eye on her.
