A police officer was shot dead in Los Angeles Sunday morning and taken to a hospital, the police said.
The Hawthorne Police Department has confirmed that one of its agents had been shot down, but nothing says about the state of the officer.

The shooting took place around 9:30 am local time, according to ABC KABC station. Officials have not revealed the name of the officer, but a suspect is in detention, according to the report.
The LA County Sheriff's Office warned people in a tweet to avoid the area of ​​Rosencrans Ave and Aviation Ave.
Police officers from Hawthorne, Gardena, Culver City and Redondo Beach all responded to the incident, according to KABC.
