Police say two teenagers have been charged with the fatal and unprovoked attack on a man at a fair in Maryland

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office responded to a report about an assault near the center of the fairground and found the victim aged 59 unconscious, the news agency said in a press release.

The man was flown to R. Cowley Adam's Shock Trauma in Baltimore for extra treatment, where he died Saturday, the statement said.

Witnesses told investigators that the man had been the victim of an unprovoked attack, and two minor suspects were identified and located by MPs, the sheriff's office said.

No weapons were used during the attack, according to the press release.

The teens, a 15-year-old man and a 16-year-old man, are currently under the care of the juvenile services department, awaiting a hearing, the statement said.

They were both charged with the incident, the 15-year-old being charged with indiscriminate risk-taking and first and second degree assaults. . The 16-year-old was charged with a second degree assault charge, according to the press release.

The body of the victim was sent to the coroner's office for an autopsy and the sheriff's office is currently consulting the prosecutor's office to determine if the teens will face additional charges, the sheriff's office said.

Neither the adolescents nor the victim have been publicly identified by the authorities.
