Police search for man who allegedly ran over pregnant woman and stole her car

MADISON, Wisconsin (WMTV) – Police in Madison are looking for a man they say ran over a pregnant woman while stealing his car from a gas station on Sunday afternoon.

Madison Police said they responded to the Kwik trip to 7717 Mineral Point Road just before 12:30 p.m. for a car theft. The 34-year-old pregnant woman told police she was filling her tires with air when the thief entered her moving vehicle.

The woman tried to get him out of the passenger side door, but the thief put the car in reverse and ran on his right leg and thigh, police said. The woman, 20 weeks pregnant, was taken to hospital with soft tissue injuries to her leg.

Police said the suspect escaped with the vehicle and are currently working to obtain video footage of the Kwik trip. The suspect is described as a man, approximately six feet tall, dressed in black and a gaiter style face mask.
