Police responded to a medical call in a North Dakota company on Monday, finding "several" bodies, authorities said.

The Mandan Police Department issued a three-sentence press release confirming that the police had found "several people dead in" the company located in the city of about 22,000 residents of the other Missouri River side, west of Bismarck. The police did not specify the number of deaths and did not immediately respond to a request for additional information.

Morton County sent a request for comment to the city police. The State Criminal Investigation Bureau confirmed that he was participating in the investigation but gave no details.

The authorities did not identify the company, but police and vehicles from the Burleigh County Sheriff's Department were grouped together on Monday at RJR Maintenance and Management. The Bismarck Tribune announced that the company had issued a statement at 9:30 am stating that it was closed on Monday.

No one answered the phone in the company.

The RJR website has identified it as a family owned property management company that has been managing commercial and residential properties in Bismarck and Mandan for more than 20 years. Its services include rent collection for homeowners, mortgage payments, apartment relocation, building and grounds maintenance, lawn care and snow removal. It also rents storage units.

A "Meet Our Team" feature on the website is illustrated by 22 employees.
