The series of negative stories about Joe Biden's interactions with women has not upset the reputation of the former vice president as the presumed leader of the 2020 democratic democracy, according to the first national poll in the presidential field led since the outbreak of the controversy.
In a Morning Consult survey, Biden was still top of the list with 32% of voters saying they intend to attend a primary or Democratic caucus next year. He has 9 points ahead of the next closest competitor: Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), With 23%.

Biden's support has grown steadily as he has embarked on the race to nominate his party. Over the past nine weeks, Morning Consult has found that Biden's support ranges from 29% to 35%. The score of 32% this week is down 1 point from last week.
The last poll, which took place from April 1 to 7, included 13,644 voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage point.
Although Biden's support did not change much, his personal favorability rating was slightly negative. In the latest poll, 75% of Democratic primary voters said they had a favorable opinion of the former vice president, up from 78%. And the proportion of voters who said they had a "very favorable" opinion on Biden went from 41% to 35%.
But Biden still had the biggest "very favorable" score in the pack; Sanders finished second with 32% of them having a very good welcome to Vermonter.
After the top two candidates, the Morning Consult survey showed that no other hope was receiving double-digit support. Californian Senator Kamala Harris is third with 9%, followed by former Texas Representative Beto O 'Rourke with 8%, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren with 7%, South Bend Mayor (Ind.) Pete Buttigieg with 5% and New Jersey Sen Cory Booker at 4%.
Buttigieg has been growing slowly but steadily in recent weeks. After close to 1% until mid-March, it recorded 1% the week ending March 17, 2% March 24, 3% last week and 5% in this week's poll.
