At 7 percent.

The survey is one of many testimonies of Buttigieg's meteoric rise, despite the relatively low recognition of his name a few months ago. A poll conducted in Iowa last week placed him in third place behind Biden and Sanders.

"Although it is still early in the nomination process, it seems that Mayor Pete is the candidate who captivates the imagination of voters," said Spencer Kimball, director of Emerson Polling, in a statement released Monday. "The numbers had it at 0% mid-February, 3% in March and now at 9% in April."

Meanwhile, Kimball said, Biden has lost some support in recent weeks. He led Sanders between 27 and 17% in February before dropping to 26% in March, tied with Sanders. In recent weeks, several women have claimed that Biden was inappropriately touched by women at public events, although half of Democratic voters said the charges would not be affected.

If Biden finally decided not to run for presidential election, Sanders would be in an even stronger position, according to the poll, that the Vermont senator would be the second choice for 31 percent of Biden's supporters. Buttigieg is the second choice for 17% of Biden's donors, followed by O'Rourke with 13%.

The poll, conducted from April 11 to 14, polled 914 registered voters across the country and has a margin of error of 3.2 percentage points.
