State Secretary Mike Pompeo seems to rule out a Kansas Senate race in 2020.
Pompeo, who represented Kansas' 4th congressional district from 2011 to 2017, says he will serve as secretary of state as long as President Donald Trump will want him.
Pompeo was asked Thursday at NBC 's "Today Today" show Thursday that he wanted to run in the Senate and said, "I like doing what I do. When an interviewer said that Pompeo did not seem to exclude him, Pompeo said: "It's ruled out."
Last month, Pompeo dismissed rumors that he might be running for Republican Senator Pat Roberts' s retired seat, telling Fox News that he was focused on his current job.
