Pop Smoke’s grave vandalized, the coffin may have been dragged

Pop Smoke’s grave was reportedly desecrated by vandals.

It is not known when the heinous act took place, but the disfigured mausoleum was discovered on Saturday morning (September 11) at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. TMZ obtained photos of the crypt of the deceased rapper, which is clearly open, with chipped pieces of marble lying on the floor. According to the celebrity news site, there is also evidence that the perpetrators grabbed the coffin and dragged it across the floor, as there are scratches leading from the grave.

The person who discovered the scene reportedly told security. A few hours later, the damaged cover had been removed and replaced with an unmarked slab. The debris had been removed and there was duct tape around the grave.

XXL contacted the Pop Smoke team and Green-Wood Cemetery for comment.

It has been nearly two years since Pop Smoke was shot and killed during a home invasion of a rented mansion in upscale Hollywood Hill in Los Angeles on February 19, 2020. He was believed to have originally been laid to rest in Cypress Cemetery Hill. in east Brooklyn before it was changed to Green-Wood.

In May, new details emerged about the murder, of which five people were arrested for including two minors. On the night of the murder, the five individuals broke into the residence where Pop was staying and attempted to rob him at gunpoint while he was in the shower. The Brooklyn rapper fired back and was shot as a result, one of the accused teens was taped admitting during a jail interview.

Pop Smoke’s two posthumous albums, Aim for the stars, aim for the moon and Faith, debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
