Kristopher Belfrey was lined up in front of the store even before the doors opened, waiting all morning to get his hands on the much-awaited sandwich that's on social media.

Even people from outside the state went to this Popeyes branch for the chance to taste the fried goodness.
Popeyes is now open for business with its famous chicken sandwiches and people are more enthusiastic than Dahlia Haliburton.
"Oh my God, I'm so excited," Haliburton said. "I was expecting this chicken sandwich as in all other states and we just got it here, so I'm really excited, I ordered five dishes, so I'm a little greedy."
The store is preparing for weeks, knowing that the day was going to be big. Managing Director Kelli Burnett wants to make sure the launch has gone well.
"They told us that we needed a designated sandwich maker and at first we felt like we might see," Burnett said. "But after the other stores launched their sandwich and we understood the sales, we added that I wanted to add about 6-7 new employees in the last few weeks, just to help us through this period and they're not going to get it. The store has not only hired additional staff to meet the anticipated demand, but has also strengthened the security of its list.
There were so many orders that it took about an hour for people to get their sandwich.
But once the customers got their sandwiches, they say it was worth the wait.
