A popular place to party in Fort Lauderdale, Florida restricts who is allowed in during spring break.
The Wharf Fort Lauderdale posted a social media ad on Friday saying it would not admit any out-of-state spring breakers under the age of 23.
“During the spring break, #WharfFTL will be 23 and over for all guests with out-of-state ID,” the announcement read.

According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, the site also posted a sign near the entrance Friday night that read: “You have to be 23 and over to enter without an ID card.”
The newspaper reported that The Wharf’s new policy is designed to avoid huge crowds and slow the spread of the coronavirus.

According to the venue’s Facebook post, “tours are welcome,” but reservations are recommended in order to secure guaranteed entry.

“Masks should be worn at all times when walking through common areas and when not eating or drinking,” the post read.

Emi Guerra, co-owner of The Wharf, told The Sun-Sentinel that the bar will operate at 50 to 60 percent capacity.
According to the newspaper, The Wharf closed “for months” in 2020 due to the pandemic and when it opened for just two days in November it was cited by health officials a few times after going live. photos of the location showing unmasked customers who were not following social distancing rules.

When it reopened in January, the venue had more coronavirus security measures in place, including single entry and exit, and more distance between seats, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
