A Virginia “porch hacker” dressed as an Amazon delivery driver slipped three packages off a front porch this week.

The thief struck a little before 11 a.m. Tuesday on Cary Street Road in Richmond, dropping off a package before seizing three boxes unattended, according to Ring camera video obtained by WRIC-TV.

Then the person, with an arrow in the shoulder area similar to those seen on Amazon delivery vans, walked over to a waiting four-door blue sedan, the video shows.

They then appeared to place the boxes in a back seat before sitting in the front passenger seat.

But no Amazon van was in sight.

The Amazon delivery man dropped off the owner’s packages around 6 p.m. Monday, according to the report.

The package the thief left was addressed to another house in Richmond – indicating that the hacker was probably rejecting packages he didn’t want after stealing them elsewhere, according to the owner, who didn’t want to be identified.

“Obviously, it’s a shame. I’m sure it’s happening more and more often, ”local resident Andrew Breton told the local TV station,“ I’m sorry to hear that this has happened to other people. I can also imagine that there are a lot of people in a more desperate situation than usual given the state of the economy these days. So I’m also not surprised that people resort to parcel theft. “
