To celebrate the anniversary of the original Boxster’s sale in 1996, Porsche unveiled an all-new special edition of the ‘Boxster 25 Years’ model. Only 1250 examples will be built, each based on the current model of GTS 4.0. That means a 394-horsepower 4.0-liter flat-six and a 0-60 as low as 3.8 seconds. It will be available with a PDK or 6-speed drivetrain, but each of them will have this wonderful set of simple five-spoke bronze wheels.
Porsche calls this bronze color Neodymium, which is used in several places in the special edition model. In addition to the wheels, it will appear on the front grille, side air intakes and all exterior badges of the car. It is described as “a shimmering copper-like brown” and contrasts with one of the three optional colors; GT Silver Metallic, Deep Black Metallic and Carrara White Metallic.
If I had a choice, I would have black. Especially since the interior and top of each of these 25 Years Boxsters will be blood red. Oh yeah, that would be super cool. You can choose to have your interior and top black, but that’s just a choice a coward would make.
It has been a long time since Porsche built such an attractive wheel as this one. It doesn’t take much for a wheel to really explode, but a two-tone color paletteThis is one way to do just that. The 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 is already an attractive shape, so it doesn’t need a complex and fancy wheel design. This five-spoke flat face is perfectly sober. Just a bit of flaring where the spoke meets the rim is all it needs.

Just absolutely phenomenal work from the designers of this one.
If you want any of these things, talk to your Porsche dealership as soon as possible, as they won’t last with just 1,250 built. It won’t be cheap, however, as the 25-year-old is starting to $ 98,600 plus an extra $ 1,350 for delivery. Considering the ‘standard’ 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 starts at $ 88,900, this anniversary package is a pretty hefty premium, but those wheels alone could be worth it.
