Former international international Ashley Cole, 37, is without a club after being sacked from the Los Angeles Galaxy club he has played for the past two years.
The club announced that it had decided not to exercise the option right for the player, as well as for the French defender Michael Ciani (via Sporting), among others.
Ashley Cole, former player of Arsenal, Chelsea and Rome, has played 86 games (3 goals) for the LA Galaxy and has been captain of the team in recent months.
