According to the explanatory note, "it is urgent to administer the appropriate drug to promote the treatment of patients with spinal muscular atrophy to patients who need it in National Health Service hospitals."
"Every day that passes, with no possibility of access to the drug, is another day when the situation of these patients is visibly deteriorating," they explain.
