Guarujá organizes a mega multi-purpose campaign against Aedes aegypti mosquito this Friday (30)

D-Day – National Arbovirus Day is Friday (30). And the municipality of Guarujá is organizing a mega task force to alert and sensitize the population against diseases caused by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, such as dengue, zika and chikungunya.

Nearly 200 people will be involved in the action, among the community health workers, the endemic control agents and other agents, who will be concentrated from 8:30 pm in Plaza 14 Bis (in front of Chris Shopping) in Vicente of Carvalho. From there, they will go to work in the neighborhood.

The mobilization began last Monday (26) with Arboviroses Week. During this period, the Health Secretariat intensified the visits of the endemic control officers and community health workers, which also prompted the public to do their part, inspecting their homes, searching for mosquito larvae and eliminating possible outbreaks. . Other municipal secretariats participated in the action by conducting parallel activities.

According to Ana Lúcia Gama da Cruz, dengue control coordinator in the municipality, the participation of the inhabitants is essential to the success of the initiative, because we produce mosquito breeding sites ourselves. "It's important to get everyone involved, each spending a little time doing an inspection at home, at the workplace, checking for the existence of possible larvae and breeding grounds," she said. -He underlines.

Ana Lúcia points out that a simple bottle cap, an uneven gutter, an open water box and bottles, among other unusable objects, are good grounds for the accumulation of rainwater.

"We can prevent the mosquito from proliferating with these simple measures and others." Another item to note is the trays located under the refrigerator, which also accumulate water, "said the coordinator.
