An initiative in Recife recalls the need to take charge of AIDS

In reference to National AIDS Day, the Positive Prevention Working Group (GTP +) has taken action to reiterate the importance of care in the diagnosis and treatment of AIDS. According to the general coordinator of the GTP +, Wladimir Reis, the fact that Recife is the capital where the number of carriers of viruses is the highest must be observed and treated.

Data published by the Ministry of Health in 2017 indicate that in Brazil, about 800,000 people are living with HIV / AIDS, out of this total, about 110,000 do not know that they are infected. Only in Pernambuco, about 30,000 people are infected with the virus and the disease.
