Interactions in social networks may contain words and phrases that we would not like to read, especially on Facebook, when there is a risk of personal violation.

But if researcher Jane Manchun Wong is right, Mark Zuckerberg's social network will soon allow users to silence certain words, phrases and even emojis so that they do not appear on the timeline.

A screen capture published on Twitter by Wong shows the option of moderating comments with the "Ban these words" feature.

"Add words, phrases, or emojis that you do not want to display in comments in your timeline, and people who post these comments and their friends will still be able to see them," says Facebook in the screenshot.

Facebook already has an anti-spam filter, but this new feature may make it easier to block hate speech and harassment that may appear in comments. Twitter and Instagram already have the ability to manually delete keywords defined in posts and comments.

The social network has not yet ruled on the possible appeal.
