The market for all-electric vehicles continues to grow and offers are becoming more and more interesting. In the van segment, one of the benchmarks is Rivian who wants to be Tesla in this segment and has already announced the R1S that will guarantee 660 km of range.
The production of this 100% electric vehicle is expected to start only in 2020.
Baptized under the name R1S (S of SUV), this Pick-Up is completely electric and has seven places (the version with battery of 180 kWh will comprise only five places). The R1S is available with 3 configurations regarding the battery:
- 105 kWh, to arrive from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.9 seconds and will have a autonomy of the order of 386Km
- 135 kWh, to arrive from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3 s and will have a autonomy of the order of 500Km
- 180 kWh, to arrive from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.2 s and will have a autonomy of the order of 660Km
The R1S is based on the R1T platform and, in this sense, the specifications are quite similar, as shown in the following illustration.
Recently the Rivian said the price of the R1S would start at $ 72,500 (without tax incentives) and that production would begin in 2020 in the United States. Pre-orders began earlier this month, according to the company.
