YouTube has announced that the feature film will end in January 2019, specifically the 15th. The company said the existing annotations will also disappear.
The company had already indicated in March 2017 that the annotations would be removed, but this decision also removes them from published videos that already contained them. At the time, YouTube justified the decision that cards and end screens reduced the use of annotations by about 70%.
