The ninth suspect of the assault of Tancos has already been found by the judicial police (PJ). This is a former military man who was stationed on this military base at the time of the flight, who had escaped Monday's operation of the Central Department of Investigations and Criminal Actions (DCIAP) and the PJ.

This operation is based on "facts that may include crimes of criminal association, theft, arrest and trafficking of arms, international terrorism and drug trafficking".

The PJ arrested eight suspects in the robbery of Tancos – all civilians – five of whom had been detained on remand after being questioned by the investigating judge of the Lisbon Criminal Court. One of them is also charged in the investigation into the theft of PSP Glock guns.

This former soldier had been engaged by the military at the time of the robbery and had received money from the group of attackers to provide information on security procedures and equipment stored in the stores. He was not in any of the addresses provided by the investigators and, according to him, he was on vacation in Spain.

The suspect is no longer serving the army and will have recently joined the GNR. Contacted the general command of the guard to clarify the situation of the accused, did not answer.

Another soldier, this one active in the army, was heard this week at the DCIAP also as part of this investigation, in the manner of a witness. This is a cable on which the Engineering Regiment 1 Commanding Officer initiated disciplinary proceedings following the internal investigation process, two days after the robbery, to determine the runway security vulnerabilities.

According to the report of the Ministry of Defense entitled "Tancos – Facts and Documents", it would have been proved that, although the military officer was informed that the police guards had not carried out any tour, the guards police had fired at him. suspicion of having taken place, prompted the police to provide false statements in the sense that they had carried out, as part of the investigation process with the Military Judicial Police, detailed information about the hours and military patrols of presumed rounds.

This disciplinary procedure began on August 14, 2017 and the decision order determined the application of a six-day dismissal ban issued on November 17. The sentence was fulfilled.
